i dont know. u tell me.. but one thing i know is i'm not going clubbing anytime soon. nahhk my life's too precious. some people say there are cases here in Palmy some say confirmed cases are only in Auckland. yesterday i received an email saying there are no confirmed cases regarding swine flu in NZ.
i guess those people were just trying to keep us calm. read the news online and there are 11 confirmed cases so far in Auckland and there just might be more. a bunch of students from Rangitoto College went over to Mexico for a 3-week trip.
a guy in Auckland was on the flight contaminated by the virus and he wasn't aware at all until 48 hours after landing in Auckland. while he was unaware, he happily went around doing stuff he normally does; shopping, going out and things like that. so yea, it's spreading like wild fire. a few IPC students were quarantined coz they were said to have swine flu but they are free from quarantine now.
i honestly do not know what is going on. all i know is, i'm not going to have any too close contact with Kusai (a Malaysian guy here). today he came to class feeling terribly sick. and i'm not even gonna go near Stephen (a French guy). he came to class today with a sore throat. pfft what am i talking about? i was happily sitting in between Kusai and Stephen in class. :)

there's no vaccine to this virus but there is a drug for it; Oseltamivir (Tamiflu) and zanamivirRelenza). and one last thing, it's safe to keep eating pork. so yea, i'm lucky! confirmed cases of swine flu are in Mexico (origin), United States, Canada, France and New Zealand. Indian government told their citizens not to travel to this part of the world and other affected countries. Indians returning from these countries are to undergo and check at the airport itself upon landing.
poor Ronald. he's an IPC student from Indonesia. he spent his summer hols in California to be with his gf. he's supposed to be back by this week for Term 1. but NZ doesnt want him back. he has 2 options now; to stay in CA or to go back to Indonesia and undergo his quarantine.
